Many aquaculture tasks border on dangerous. Working in and around water, working alone and sometimes at night compounds that danger. The fact is, slips, trips, and falls are a major cause of injury.
Although it’s impossible to eliminate the dangerous tasks, Poseidon Ocean Systems designs net pens and cages to maximize safety and ensure that safety standards are met throughout the world.
For example, to minimize the risk of trips and falls we design cage systems with feed line piping and aeration hoses under the decking. This allows workers to perform their daily tasks safely and efficiently.
Furthermore, our aeration/oxygen panels are certified by Technical Safety BC.
Our systems are modeled and then built to work in some of the harshest conditions on the planet. As a result, we test the wind, waves, and currents for each location. And, after compiling the test results, the equipment is then modified to ensure that it will work effectively in those environmental conditions, helping to keep your workforce safe.

Poseidon designs cage systems to deter and protect your workforce and fish from predators. For example, predator nets hung from posts protect against Seals and Sea Lions. In addition, we employ bird nets to protect from avian predation.
